Holiday rentals on the increase in Spain, including Barcelona

Spanish property portal kyero.com has reported a 22% increase in holiday rentals in December, based on findings of a study conducted by Homelidays, the holiday rental accommodation site.
Properties in Catalonia (including Barcelona), Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, Madrid and Valencia attracted the most demand.
Enquiries from foreign travellers explain the increase, with the highest number coming from the United Kingdom (34%), Italy (33%) and France (22%). Homelidays’ sales management in Spain foresees “a very positive period for the holiday rental accommodation sector”.

Growth in the number of enquiries for Barcelona was up 15%, just ahead of the Costa Dorada (south of Barcelona). According to the property site, Spanish daily El Mundo also reported that Spain was in third place in global rankings for countries with the highest demand for holiday rental accommodation.
