According to the real estate website Habitaclia, the sale of houses and apartments in 2014 increased with 2%. 53,329 real estate transactions were made, representing an increase of + 1.94% compared to 2013. The houses and apartments for sale in Barcelona and surroundings are at the top of the list for foreign investors and holiday home buyers. In Catalonia real estate transactions accounted for 14.62% of Spain, where a total 364 601 sales transactions were made.

In Spain and Catalonia, the housing market has good prospects for 2015, according to industry players. “For the first months of 2015, we expect market figures to continue the same stabilization as seen in 2014, though perhaps with a more moderate value,” according to the Spanish notaries.
