Catalonia, with Barcelona as its capital, recorded its best first semester performance in 2015 in terms of attracting investment

Between January and June foreign companies invested 1,959,19 € million, almost four times more than in 2014.

In 2014, the city was rated the ninth best metropolis in the world and ranked number four in Europe in terms of project development in Barcelona, which have generated about 2,700 new jobs.

Catalonia leads Spain's regions

Catalonia clearly leads Spain's autonomous regions, with 25.6% of all exports and a growth rate of 7.2% in total. Barcelona recorded an export value of 29,885 € million, also 7.2% higher than the previous year, thanks to the automotive and textile sectors, amongst others.

At European level, data from Catalonia was better than results in the EU and countries like France and Germany. The EU exports grew with 5.1%, in Germany with 6.2 % and with 1.6% in France.
